What courses do
you provide tutorial support for?
The Mount Vernon Academic Support Center provides tutorial support for students enrolled in Pre-algebra, Beginning Algebra, College Algebra, College Reading and Study Skills, Reading, Writing, ESL, Spanish, Italian, CIS, and Nutrition. In addition, ASC staff also offer students assistance with writing, reading and study skills, regardless of which courses they are enrolled.
The ASC also provides tutorial support for students enrolled in Spanish and CIS.

have computers?
Mount Vernon ASC has sixteen computer terminals and all are available for
students who wish to use the computers for academic purposes. Each computer
is also loaded with instructional software.

instructional software are loaded onto the ASC computers?
Following is a list of instructional software programs available at the MV
ASC:

Focus on Grammar: This software is designed to provide ESL students with opportunities to practice English. Practice exercises include reading, writing and listening activities.

Basic English Composition: This instructional software program addresses spelling as well as sentence and paragraph writing.

Developing Writing Skills: This program provides students with additional practice and reinforcement of basic writing, research and dictionary skills.

One Step at a Time: This software is designed to assist students with their writing, grammar, verbs, tense, spelling and punctuation.

Keyboarding Pro 4: This software is offered to students in keyboarding classes and is designed to help students develop their keyboarding skills.

My MathLab/Math XL: This computer assisted math is a supplement to Pre-Algebra, Beginning Algebra and College Algebra and Trigonometry courses.
