WATER

The Fall Season (62nd) features six outstanding contemporary films representing a broad spectrum of international film talent. It includes a brief introduction to each film, film notes, discussions, and refreshments. Screenings begin at 8:00 pm (unless indicated otherwise) in Davis Auditorium- Gateway  Building.

Doors open at 7:10 pm; refreshments are served at 7:30 pm.

A season subscription costs $54; WCC faculty/staff and seniors (60 and over), $48. A single admission is $11; faculty/staff and seniors, $10.

India (2005)

A group of widows are forced into poverty at a temple in the holy city of Varanasi. One of the widows wants to escape the social restrictions imposed. She meets a man from the highest caste; a follower of Gandhi. Can she break with tradition to marry him? Amid all this water, is rebirth possible or does tradition drown all? (117 minutes)
