This Austrian company, over 100 years old, imparts a virtuosic artistry to an ancient art form. Considered to be “a mesmerizing spectacle” (The New York Times), Debussy’s rarely staged children’s ballet The Toy Box, was dedicated to his daughter Emma-Claude. It was not premièred until after the composer’s death. It recalls an innocent world. Imitations of music-box tunes, parodies of opera and folk melodies, plus a reference to Golliwog’s Cakewalk accompany the ever so charming characters experiencing life, love and conflict…all in a toy box. (Suitable for all ages)
