Dr. Paul Kaplan, Professor of Art History at SUNY Purchase, will deliver a lecture on the history of food and feasting in art. The lecture is in coordination with the Westchester Community College integrated Learning Project, which is focusing on the theme of food from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
Professor Kaplan received his PhD from Boston University, and is a Professor of Art History at SUNY Purchase. He is the author of The Rise of the Black Magus in Western Art and of numerous essays on European images of black Africans and Jews, and on political, military and feasting imagery in Venetian art.
