Here’s What’s Happening at Westchester
Upcoming Student Events

The Westchester Events Board is a group of students
committed to creating a vibrant and dynamic student community. Through
offering creative and innovative student programs, it is the goal of these
groups to better engage students in the College community. Events both on
and off campus are sponsored that afford students safe, unique, and
entertaining means to meet new people and enjoy themselves outside of the
classroom experience.
Each week students will find themselves saying,
if it’s Wednesday – it must be WEB’s day! Students can find a
majority of the major campus events during “Common Hour” each Wednesday from
11:00am – 1:00pm. Click on the Calendar of Events link on this page to find
out exactly what WEB is planning. Events range from social programs like
comedians or coffeehouses to programs aimed at creating awareness to issues
such as substance abuse, diversity and civility. Every week there is sure
to be an event or two that will please everyone!
By partnering with members of the College faculty,
staff, or administration, WEB offers a series of co-curricular programs
for students. As a means to compliment the academic offerings of the
College, these programs promote a spirit of life-long learning. Events such
as round-table discussions, film showings, and guest speakers are used to
stimulate intellectual curiosity and spark debate from those participating.
This is a fun way to spend an hour, engage in a dialogue, and learn
something new. Plus, at many of these events, students can enjoy delicious
free food!
All events are open to currently enrolled Westchester
Community College students. Students may be asked to show their College ID
cards prior to being admitted to programs. Events sponsored by these groups
are often held free of charge to students, with the exception of
off-campus trips,
which a minimal fee and an advanced purchased ticket is required.
