Westchester Community College is inviting students interested in high demand careers in Engineering Science and Technology, or Environmental Studies or Environmental Science, to an Open House on Wednesday, July 16. Two sessions are available (3:00 – 5:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm). The event in Technology Building Student Lounge will include faculty members from these academic programs along with representatives from companies interested in future graduates. There is still room in the fall cohort for Bright Futures.
Those seeking an education leading to careers in the energy field will meet with representatives from Con Edison, New York Power Authority, and Solar City who will discuss their need for skilled technicians and engineers. College faculty and Admissions staffers will share details on how our various academic programs prepare students for high salary careers.
The college’s “Bright Futures” academic programs include Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, Energy Systems, Engineering Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, and Mechanical Technology. Con Edison has supported the “Bright Futures” program with a generous grant and also lends industry expertise to ensure College programs are on-target for competitive employment opportunities in these fields.
In addition to the curriculum of foundational and state of the art courses that meet current industry expectations, the Bright Futures strengthens students’ employability with career development and soft skills through in-class and out-of-class experiences.
