Law Society

The Westchester Community College Law Society was formed in 1995. The Law Society sponsors numerous guest speakers, including experts in the area of civil rights, litigation, "Blue Sky Laws," appellate practice, and intellectual property.

The Society has taken numerous trips to hear oral arguments at the United States Supreme Court, the New York State Court of Appeals (which is the high court of the state), and the New York State Appellate Division. During the last three trips to the New York Court of Appeals, the students were greeted by Chief Judge Kay and given a "behind-the-scenes tour" by the Chief Judge.

While visiting the high courts, the Society has taken both formal and informal tours of the Federal Capitol and the New York State Capitol Building. In addition, while visiting the State Capital, the society visited and toured the New York State Bar Association building in Albany.
