THE DECA FASHION CLUB

In this spirit of style and giving, the fashion merchandising program at Westchester Community College’s business department gives back every semester with events planned and organized by the DECA Fashion Club.

Past events have included important outreach programs such as

  • Makeovers for the women residents of White Plains Coachman Family Center. Teaming up Westhab, the non-profit housing agency that provides transitional housing for homeless families, the DECA Fashion students coordinated an ambitious fashion-led charity outreach initiative called “good clothes open all doors”.

  • Shopping for a Cause fund-raiser in support of the Susan G Komen breast cancer foundation with jewelry and makeovers.

  • Fashion shows and styling events to support such charities as ASPCA, The Fresh Air Fund and Dress for Success.

The club also hosts events and trips into the city such as FIT museum visits, guest speakers from Saks Fifth Avenue to Neiman Marcus and even fashion showroom trips to Baby Phat.

Many students have the opportunity to work the professional fashion shows in New York City and work with designers and fashion show producers.
