Requirements
Health Insurance
Participants are required to have health insurance in order to travel to Costa Rica.
The program includes a four-week travelers' health insurance policy plan which covers for up to 10% of the amount contracted for medical needs including hospital and medication. This insurance is provided by the Costa Rican National Insurance Company (INS in Spanish). More details will be provided upon request.
Eligibility
Students must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Students under age 18 must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardian to participate. The program is open to everyone, new and returning students. Students who have no prior experience taking Spanish classes can also participate. An interview with the directors of the program is required for level placement purposes. Applications will be considered as soon as they are completed, and the applicant will be notified of the decision at once. Applications received after May 18 will be processed on a space - available basis.
Travel Arrangements
Flight arrangements are made by the Program Directors. Students who wish to make their own travel arrangements may do so provided they are in Heredia for the beginning of classes and remain until the academic program is completed. Students flying with the group and wishing to stay longer may do so as long as they have purchased the ticket with desired date of return. This will require extra charges for flight changes according to airline policies. Underage students who wish to stay longer may do so provided their parents allow
it.
Application Procedure
Submit a completed application form along with a $40 non-refundable application fee. A $250 deposit is also required to hold reservation. All checks are payable to WCC.We will process your application and reply with an acceptance letter and a packet of information within two weeks receiving your application and initial deposit and application fee.
Program application deadline is May 18.
