These certifications have become globally recognized and are key to your professional development. May employers require one or more of these certifications for their IT jobs.

Q: Which Certification is good for me?

A: When evaluating a Certifications there are many things to consider. A key factor is where you are now in terms of Extension training and certification. If you are just starting, one way to start is to study for, and pass, the A+ certification exam. This can act as a springboard from which to pursue additional training and certifications, or to gain entry level employment. If you already have a solid grounding in PC repair and troubleshooting, then the MCSE/MCSA might be the right approach. You can stop by to talk with one of our counselors to get a better idea of what direction is right for you.

Q: Where can I receive IT training?

A: The Yonkers Extension Center offers training in all of the areas mentions above (MCSA, A+, Network+, and CCNA). A combination of hands-on training and classroom theory will provide you with the tools needed to to pass these exams.
