Mainstream, the Institute for Mature Adults, offers several training options designed for mature adults who are looking for work, switching fields or getting back into the job market.
Health Information Technology
This exciting program prepares healthcare and/or IT professionals to serve as Implementation Support Specialists, Technical/Software support staff, and Trainers in health care organizations. Medical Administrative Assistant Training Program
Have you thought about becoming a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant? Westchester Community College is offering a 100-hour workforce program that can help students prepare for the nationally-recognized Medical Administrative Assistant Certification Exam (CMAA) offered through the National Healthcareer Association. This program will teach students about the administrative procedures and knowledge needed to work in a variety of healthcare settings. The program will include training that will be needed to work with patients, medical records, finances and medical ethics and terminology. Classes will take place starting late September 2015 in the evenings at the Valhalla campus. Cost: $1,000 + $13 student fee + textbooks. Classes are limited to 16 students. Operation Talent Bank – Job Search Skills & Computer Training
Designed for mature adults who are actively looking for work, this program is offered 4 times throughout the year. Operation Talent Bank offers 15 hours of job search skills that include resume writing, interviewing skills, self-assessment and job search strategies and 15 hours of computer training in Excel and PowerPoint. This program is sponsored by the Women’s Research and Education Fund in partnership with the Westchester County Office for Women. Cost is $30 + $13 student fees.
