Mission Statement
The mission of the Reading and Study Skills Department is to promote the success of our diverse student population by providing strategies to develop proficient reading skills and effective learning techniques that encourage independent learning and personal growth.
Department Goals
The goals of the Reading and Study Skills Department are to
- teach students to read college level material
- familiarize students with college resources
- provide students with tools and techniques to succeed in all college courses
- prepare students to communicate in a diverse and global environment
- encourage collaborative learning
- provide an environment that fosters innovative and professional development
