People who love what they do for a living often are very excited to share their interest and knowledge with prospective new entrants to their profession. I think that is what you will find when you study and get to know the accounting faculty at Westchester Community College. The department is made up of four full-time and fourteen adjunct faculty, all of whom have long service in the practice of accounting and finance and teaching. Our full timers have an average of over twenty- eight years of teaching experience and eight of our adjunct faculty have achieved the prestigious rank of senior adjunct status-earned after many years of work, study and experience. Many of us have earned the CPA, CFA or CFP designations- a recognition of our knowledge and experience in our professions. We really enjoy what we do and our students appreciate our effort, dedication and knowledge!
I hope that you will join us as accounting majors and become actively involved in our classes, our dynamic accounting club and a host of other campus-wide activities that will help you achieve personal and professional growth and development. I am certain that you will also have a great time making new friends as you work toward accomplishing your academic goals.
I believe that you will find, as so many of our prior students have, that we live our motto, “turning students into professionals.”
See you in class and around campus!
Sal Marino EdD, CPA
