Foreign Credit Evaluation

EVALUATION OF INTERNATIONAL TRANSCRIPTS

Effective immediately, international transcripts will only be accepted for consideration at Westchester Community College if they have been translated and evaluated by one of the professional organizations listed below. You must use one of these agencies and request a course by course evaluation.

Once the evaluated transcript has been received, it will be forwarded to the appropriate person who will begin the process of determining how this course work applies to the program requirements of your current curriculum. If you are attempting to attain credit for an English course or courses, please be advised of the following:

In general, English credits from countries where English is not the primary language of instruction will not be accepted towards Westchester Community College’s Comp & Lit requirement.
If the English credits are from a country where English is the primary language of instruction and it is clear that there is a “match” with our Comp & Lit course(s), then credit will be granted. If it is not clear whether or not the course(s) match up, the transcript will be forwarded to the English department for further evaluation.

If you have any questions, please call the Transfer Credit Evaluator at 914-606-6199, or the counselor specializing in assisting international students, Professor Ruben Barato at 914-606-6725. These agencies will charge for this service, but once it has been done, the translated and evaluated transcript should be acceptable at other universities or colleges in the United States.
