Study Abroad Program - Cambridge University

Christina Rusnak's Experience

I can remember walking up and down the hallways at Westchester Community College, constantly noticing the poster about the Honors Program's trip to Cambridge.  I wanted so badly to be a part of the program, and I knew that if I worked hard enough, I would be able to go. My hard work eventually paid off, and I was able to board a plane with ten complete strangers and have an experience of a lifetime.

Cambridge was absolutely breathtaking. The architecture was incredible, to say the least. Not only were the buildings beautiful but so, too, was the town. The town, itself, is small, but it ha
so much  to offer. The town was so alive during the day; the church bells ringing, people selling items in the market place, people sight - seeing, people punting along the river, etc. Not only was my trip wonderful because of the setting I was in, but it was also wonderful because of the people I was with. It was such a pleasure to get to know everyone in our group over the span of ten days. It was also incredible getting to know so many people from all over the world. The classes at Cambridge were so fulfilling. I was hesitant about taking a class at Cambridge University, because I felt that the material would be "over my head,"  but I really feel as if I have a greater and deeper knowledge of the subject that we studied there: Hamlet. Overall, I will always be eternally grateful to Westchester Community College for letting me have the chance to have this experience, and it is something I will never forget.
