Intro to Linguistics |

This course provides basic theories and concepts
relating to the study of language and communication in humans. Topics
include: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, language variation,
and language change. Designed as an introduction to the field of
linguistics, this course requires no prior knowledge of the subject.
Students who are interested in the study of language or becoming
language teachers or translators should consider taking this course.
Class hrs. 3. Prerequisite: A score of 8 on Placement Exam, or passing
grade in ENG 002 Basic Writing II, or ESL 122 Intro to Academic Writing
II.
