WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE
YONKERS
EXTENSION
CENTER HONORED BY YONKERS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Westchester
Community College’s
Yonkers
Extension
Center
was honored recently by the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce. “I’m proud to
receive this award on behalf of the College and my team at the Center,” says
Rick Hyland, director of the Center. “We’re honored to be a part of the Yonkers community and
we’re fortunate to have the Chamber as a partner,” he adds.
The Yonkers Extension Center,
located in the Cross
County
Shopping Center, opened in 2001. Each semester,
more than 1,000 credit and non-credit students take classes there in a
variety of areas: computing, general education, and English as a Second
Language. Eight staff members, including a full-time faculty member, work at
the facility.
Westchester
Community College is the largest higher education
institution in Westchester. The main campus in Valhalla is complemented
by Centers in Yonkers,
