NEW YORK STATE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION  FUNDRAISER HELD AT WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13

Westchester Community College will host a New York State Restaurant Association (Westchester/Rockland Chapter) fundraiser to raise money for student scholarships on Tuesday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. Students in the Culinary Arts and Management Program will prepare and serve dinner at the event, which will be held in the college’s Instructional Dining Room on the Valhalla campus at 75 Grasslands Road.

Jennifer Sherman of Envision Coaching, Incorporated, who is a coach, trainer and motivational speaker, will address the audience of chapter members, college administrators, and students. She will discuss ways to get the best return on your business investment, covering cover employee motivation, retention, and productivity.

The college’s Culinary Arts and Management Program is grooming the next generation of restaurant industry leaders. Graduates with an Associate in Applied Science degree receive a thorough education in the food services field and perform middle management duties after moving directly into positions as restaurant managers, food production supervisors, caterers, purchasing agents, chefs, or bakers. Many go on to earn their bachelor’s degrees at four-year institutions.

All proceeds from the dinner event will go toward Culinary Arts and Management Program student scholarships.

The event, which will double as a meeting of the local chapter,  is open to the public; $30 for chapter members, $35 for other  guests. For information, phone 914-949-3513.
