WESTCHESTER
COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESENTS REDNECK TENORS SHOW ON MARCH 1
Westchester Community College presents the hilarious
Three Redneck Tenors, a musical blue collar adventure with down home laughs
and big city music, on Saturday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the Academic Arts
Theatre.
Audiences will
laugh at the story line and marvel at the music featuring opera and Broadway
stars Keith Buterbaugh, Matthew Lord, Steven Sanders, John Wilkerson, Alex
Bumpas, and Dinny McGuire.
In the melodic wake of the three operatic tenors comes
a new breed of tenors from more humble origins. The musical-comedy
extravaganza features classically-trained veteran artists in a presentation
part hilarity, part opera, and part hee-haw. Written by opera veteran
Matthew Lord with music arranged by award-winning composer Craig Bohmler,
the story of Three Redneck Tenors places these three hopeful “would-be’s,
wanna-be’s” at New York City’s famous Carnegie Hall. Billy Bob, Billy Joe,
and Billy Billee mix NASCAR with La
Boheme, lite beer with Carmen,
and even kick up a little dust with
Madame Butterfly. You’ll travel with our three classical cousins from
their modest beginnings in Paris, Texas
all the way to their triumphant debut at Carnegie Hall.
Tickets are $20 (general admission), $17
(students/seniors) and $12 (children under 13). For tickets or information,
visit the web site at sunywcc.edu or call 914-606-6262.
