Former Presidential Aides at November 22 eventWestchester Community College is pleased to present the institution’s annual President’s Forum event, News and Views, Election 2008-Where Are We Now? on Sunday, November 22, 2009. The panel discussion in the Academic Arts Theatre, moderated by Lester M. Crystal, president, MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, will begin at 2:30 p.m. and conclude with a wine and cheese reception and book signing at 4:30 p.m. The panelists will be Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary to President George W. Bush; Paul Gigot, editorial page editor and vice president of The Wall Street Journal; Joe Lockhart, former White House press secretary to President Bill Clinton; and Mark Shields, political commentator, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. Moderator Lester M. Crystal was instrumental in preparing the NewsHour program for its launch as the nation’s first hour-long nightly newscast. Prior to NewsHour, Crystal was president of NBC News, executive producer of NBC Nightly News, and producer of The Huntley-Brinkley Report. Scarsdale resident Crystal is on the Westchester Community College Foundation board of directors. The President’s Forum, a fundraising event for student scholarships and faculty and institutional development, has been presented by the Westchester Community College Foundation for the past 25 years.
