WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE PRESENTS IRISH DANCE AND MUSIC SHOW ON APRIL 12

Westchester Community College in Valhalla will present The Magic of Ireland on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m. in the Academic Arts Theatre.

Long before Riverdance, there was Irish dance, music, and song, often taking place spontaneously in kitchens, taverns, and family gatherings. In small villages across the land, the percussion of the dance steps fuelled the exciting pulse of the music and its ancient compelling rhythms. These traditional arts endure today in much the same way. Evoking a time and place steeped in legend, lore, and enchantment, The Magic of Ireland offers an authentic Irish cultural experience. Enjoy a spectacular evening of traditional Irish dance, music, and song enhanced by stunning costumes, lighting, and sound.

The most exciting thing the show offers is its sense of spontaneity. It is a true group effort and all the members of the troupe collaborate together both on and off the stage. It is impossible to guess exactly what the evening has in store; perhaps an unexpected musical segment, or an impromptu dance.
