SPRING DANCE DAY AND DANCEWORKS PERFORMANCES SCHEDULED FOR MARCH AND APRIL 

Westchester Community is presenting performances of its Danceworks dance company in March and April, and will hold its annual Spring Dance Day event on April 9.

The college’s Danceworks dance company performances in the Academic Arts Building are on:

Saturday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m.
Friday, April 4 at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 5 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, April 6 at 3:00 p.m.

Danceworks, founded in 1979 by Company Director Maryann Franzblau and faculty consultant Jo Robbins, has brought a unique combination of educational and professional presentations of dance as communication to the community. Performing in concert and in demonstrations at the college and local theaters, schools, and libraries, the company reaches audiences of nearly 3,000 each year. Its members are Westchester Community College students and alumni of many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and range in age from 19 to 55. 

Meanwhile, the Sean Curran dance company will teach and perform on the annual Spring Dance Day on Wednesday, April 9. Studio, high school, and college students will also perform on that day. The Spring Dance Day events in the Physical Education Building - Gymnasium are free and open to the public. The instruction and performance schedule is:

Masterclass in Modern Dance (Beginners) from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Student performances from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Lecture/Demonstration from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
