WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE EMPLOYEE RECOGNIZED BY CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMYWestchester Community College’s Stephen J. Leone, a Division of Continuing Education administrator who coordinates the college’s Cisco Networking Academy offerings, was an award winner in the Third Annual U. S. 4R Cisco Academy Recognition Awards. He won in the “Relationships” category for those who supervise the Cisco Networking Academy at various institutions across the country. The national Academy awards measure Rigor, Relevance, Relationships, and Results as key components that lead to success. Academic rigor, relevance of the course content, and relationships that promote learning and career opportunities form the foundation of student success in this particular program. There are two dimensions of relationships: one is creating classroom relationships with students to ensure optimal learning and the other is establishing strategic relationships to create more opportunities for students. Each year the academy honors six candidates in each category from the over 5,000 high schools, community colleges, and institutions of higher education which participate in the Academy Program. |
