AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ MUSICAL
THEATRE EVENT PRESENTED AT
WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE ON
JUNE 7
Westchester Community College
will present the
Ain’t Misbehavin’ musical theatre
show on Saturday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m. in the Academic Arts Theatre on the Valhalla campus.
When Ain’t Misbehavin’
opened on Broadway, it made history by winning numerous Tony Awards
including best musical. “The opening night audience almost knocked the roof
off with cheers,” reported William Glover in the
Associated Press. Time
Magazine called it a “stompin’, struttin’, high-hattin’ smash” and Clive
Barnes predicted Ain’t Misbehavin’
would be “a joyous celebration that is going to cross the world.”
The exciting new production of the award winning musical
encompasses thirty show-stopping songs that take you on a journey through
the Fats Waller songbook and Harlem’s
heyday. With snazzy period costumes, complete with bowlers and spats, the
dynamic five-member cast and a six-piece band turn the theatre into a
rollicking rent party.
The joint is jumpin’ from start to finish with Waller classics such
as “Honeysuckle Rose” and “Squeeze Me” and hilariously naughty tunes such as
“Your Feet’s Too Big” and “That Ain’t Right.” This fast paced romp takes you
where the high-steppers partied, from honky tonk dives to the Cotton Club,
from Tin Pan Alley to the Waldorf.
Tickets are $18 (general admission), $16 (students/ seniors)
with children under ten admitted free. For tickets or information, call 914-
606-6262.
