Student Government Association (Full-Time & Part-Time Student Government)
This is the government that represents all students and provides
opportunities for your college experience to be more than just taking
classes. Through your activity fee, Student Government Association’s annual
budget is more than $700,000, and it sponsors intercollegiate athletics,
clubs, honor societies, media organizations, and art events to help make
your college experience a full one.
Student Government Association is run by elected
student officers and appointed chairpersons. Each officer has a one-year
term, and elections are held in April of each year so there will be
continuity from one year to the next. An annual banquet is held in May
acknowledging students and faculty who contribute to the Student Government
Association or its organizations. Student Government Association meets Thursday and Wednesday beginning in mid-September at 4:00 p.m Each sponsored club or organization must send a
representative to all meetings, but any student is welcome to attend and
participate. The Student Government Association is the voice through which
the student body speaks to the college administration and faculty.
