Position AnnouncementThe following position requires familiarity w/the community college philosophy, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse college population. TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Instructor- Sociology (Tenure Track) DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Behavioral/Social Sciences RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Behavioral/Social Sciences seeks a highly motivated candidate to teach courses in sociology. In addition to a teaching load of 15 contact hours per semester, the candidate will participate in departmental, college and appropriate professional activities. Innovative and knowledgeable individuals with demonstrated experience in instructional technology, distance learning, and entrepreneurial approaches to course and program development are encouraged to apply. QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in Sociology is required, a PhD is preferred. A minimum of one year of teaching experience is required. POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2010 SALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary is $55,745 plus competitive benefits.
