TITLE OF POSITION/RANK:  Instructor of Photography and Digital Film-Tenure Track
 
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  Division of Arts and Humanities
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Arts Department seeks highly motivated candidates with strong educational credentials, a working knowledge of developments in the profession, and the ability to put the best research and theory into practice. The successful candidate would teach a full complement of courses and be committed to supporting the college’s curriculum development and mission.  In addition to a teaching load of 15 contact hours per semester,  successful candidate is expected to participate in departmental and college activities.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  A Master’s degree in photography, video or a related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time college-level teaching experience is required. Three years of full time college teaching experience and a working knowledge of curriculum development is highly preferred.  The candidate must have the ability to teach in at least one of the following areas and provide academic oversight in the others: wet and digital photography, video production, and video post-production courses.  A sensitivity to the needs of community college students, including issues of ethnic diversity; familiarity with the integration of technology into teaching and learning is essential. 
 
POSITION EFFECTIVE:  Fall 2012  (Hiring is subject to the availability of funds).
 
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $57,415 plus excellent benefits.
