TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Temporary Program Specialist/Assistant Director, Ossining Extension Center (October 18, 2010-February 15, 2011) DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Ossining Extension Center RESPONSIBILITIES: This full time position assists with the
management of a large, facility-based extension center, which offers both
liberal arts classes for college credit as well as non-credit programming
for the community based on the center’s thematic focus. Responsibilities
include program development, job development and developing and maintaining
contacts with area employers, coordinating the provision of services to
students, marketing, and community outreach. This position reports to the
Director of the Extension Center. The Ossining Extension Center’s focus is
on the life sciences and health care careers. Regular work hours: 11 am-7 pm
M-F; weekend hours as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required plus 2 years of related experience, preferably in higher education or continuing education. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with MS Office Suite is required. Experience in health care is also required.
