Position Announcement

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  Nursing/Division of Natural and Health Sciences
 
TITLE OF POSITION/RANK:  Instructor-Nursing (Tenure Track) for the evening/weekend program. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Nursing Department seeks a dynamic, highly motivated, energetic and skilled educator with strong nursing and educational credentials to teach Nursing to a diverse student population.  The chosen candidate will be expected to be highly involved in student mentoring and advisement, as well as curriculum development and program coordination.

  • Teach ADN3 (Medical/Surgical) lecture, lab and clinical in one component of two components of the course.
  • Teach ADN4 lecture and clinical in one component of two components of the course.
  • Teach 15 contact hours a week.
  • Hold a minimum of five office hours a week.
  • Assist in the development and revision of syllabi and curricula.
  • Serve on department and college-wide committees.
  • Participate in departmental, college governance and student life.
  • Participate in professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in nursing and a minimum of one year of practical experience required.  A Doctorate and 5 years experience in nursing preferred.
  •  Prior teaching experience including curriculum development and program coordination preferred.
  •  Familiarity with technology incorporated into teaching and learning.
  •  Ability to incorporate clinical nursing experiences into theory. 

POSITION EFFECTIVE:  Spring of Fall 2012 (Hiring is subject to the availability of funds)
 
SALARY & BENEFITS:  The starting salary is $57,415 plus excellent benefits.
