TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Manager of Fiscal
Operations (*Search Re-opened- Previous applicants need not re-apply.*) RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general supervision of the Vice President and Dean of Administrative Services and/or the Director of Fiscal Operations, the Manager of Fiscal Operations participates and assists in the direction, coordination and implementation of short and long range fiscal policies, programs and procedures in an assigned area of the management of fiscal operations of Westchester Community College, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close, forecasts and projections, grant analysis, capital project analysis, reserve analysis, year-end accruals and adjustments, working with NYS and independent auditors, and preparation of financial statements. Supervision is exercised over professional and technical staff. QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics or a closely related field, including the satisfactory completion of 12 credits in accounting, and seven years of experience in financial operations, three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, are required. A Master’s degree in business administration or a related field is strongly preferred. A CPA certification is also strongly preferred. The successful candidate must possess thorough knowledge of modern accounting and auditing theory and practice; thorough knowledge of financial accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary procedures; thorough knowledge of financial management information systems and controls; thorough knowledge of office procedures and practices; working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations; ability to plan and direct the work of a substantial number of employees; ability to organize and initiate accounting systems for new programs. S/he must also possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
