TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Instructor of Theatre/Dance
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Communication, Media & Performing
Arts/Division of Arts and Humanities RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Theatre discipline of the Performing Arts Program seeks a
highly motivated candidate to assist with the development of new Dance
curricula within Theatre Arts. The successful candidate will have a
teaching load of 15 contact hours per semester, serve as advisor to the SGA
Dance Club, and participate in departmental and college activities.
S/he may also have opportunities to choreograph for the Drama and Dance
clubs. QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in Dance
or a related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time college-level
teaching experience are required. An MFA and three years of college
teaching experience are highly preferred. S/he must also possess
significant professional and/or academic experience with theatre based
(character driven) choreography and experience with curricula development
and administration. Experience with contemporary and/or social dance
forms are a plus. Sensitivity to the needs of community college
students, including issues of diversity is required. S/he must also be
committed to supporting the mission of the college. POSITION
EFFECTIVE: Fall 2013 SALARY & BENEFITS:
Starting salary $57,415 plus excellent benefits. (Hiring is subject
