TITLE OF POSITION/RANK:  Assistant Professor/Chair of Health Programs (Tenure Track) (*Search Re-opened) 
 
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  Educational Opportunity Center/Academic Affairs

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) of Westchester, a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking a highly motivated, energetic office professional to join its team. Located in downtown Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved individuals preparing for college and/or seeking career-oriented employment.
The Assistant Professor will be the academic leader for all nursing and allied health initiatives at the EOC and responsible for coordinating the departmental affairs for all day, evening and on and off-site programs. S/he will provide leadership in the establishment of new training programs, supervise the work of faculty, develop and maintain affiliation agreements with health care providers, monitor state examination results and take corrective action, as needed.  The Assistant Professor will provide instruction, assign students to and supervise clinical rotations, and evaluate student progress. S/he will also coordinate the delivery of special academic services to ensure student retention and success and the achievement of state promulgated performance standards.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse, possess a Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Nursing, or related field and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience. S/he must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to incorporate technology into instruction. S/he must also be able to work with a culturally diverse student population. Curriculum development and program coordination experience are preferred.
 
POSITION EFFECTIVE:   September 1, 2011
 
SALARY & BENEFITS:  The salary range is $66,225- 96,285 plus excellent benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
