TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Instructor of
English-Tenure Track DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Division
of Arts and Humanities RESPONSIBILITIES: The
Department of English seeks a highly motivated candidate with strong
educational credentials, a working knowledge of developments in the
profession, and the ability to put the best research and theory into
practice. The successful candidate will teach a full complement of courses
and be committed to supporting the college’s curriculum development and
mission. In addition to a teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester,
the successful candidate is expected to participate in departmental and
college activities. QUALIFICATIONS: A
Master’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time college-level
teaching experience are required. A Ph.D. and three years of full-time
college teaching experience are highly preferred. Research and scholarship
is a plus, as well as the following: expertise in the teaching of writing
and familiarity with curriculum development in this area; the ability to
teach basic writing, composition and literature and writing-intensive
elective courses with sensitivity to the needs of community college
students, including issues of ethnic diversity; familiarity with the
integration of technology into teaching and learning.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2013 SALARY
& BENEFITS: Starting salary $57,415 plus excellent benefits.
