POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Coordinator of Student Affairs

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Student Development and Support Services

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator of Student Affairs will be primarily responsible for coordinating programs, interventions and special events that relate to students’ transition into and out of the College. This individual is to ensure that the experiences available to students speak to the diversity of the population at the College. S/he will coordinate New Student Orientation, both in the summer and winter. This includes: program planning, implementation and assessment as well as the selection, training, and supervision of the student Orientation Leaders/Peer Advisors; coordinate College Commencement, including: rehearsal, cap/gown distribution, volunteer recruitment, and the Commencement-day Ceremony; co-coordinate the College’s Orientation Leader and Peer Advisor program, including: the selection and training of student leaders, program implementation and assessment. S/he will also co-advise the Westchester Events Board (WEB), the student organization responsible for providing major campus events to the student community. This individual will design and implement trainings and continual interventions to help student leaders understand their responsibilities and learn from their experiences; oversee the Faculty/Student Association (FSA) van program, including: vehicle assignments/reservations, vehicle upkeep, driver management, etc. The Coordinator of Student Affairs will perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree and four years experience in working with student affairs is required. A Master’s Degree in student guidance or a related field and three years experience in working with students or student affairs is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must have experience working in student activities, working knowledge of student development theory, leadership development, and experience in advising and training student organizations.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: January 2011

SALARY & BENEFITS: The salary range is $64,685-$86,220, commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits.
