TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Associate Dean, Natural
and Health Sciences
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Division of Natural and Health
Sciences
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Vice
President and Dean of Academic Affairs, the Associate Dean will lead
faculty, academic programs, and the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Food
Service Administration, Nursing, Pre-Hospital Emergency Services, Physical
Education, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care. The Dean will
be a member of the College’s Academic Leadership Council and will be
responsible for divisional planning, budgets, and evaluation of faculty and
staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a MA/MS degree in
Health, Science, or a related field is required. A PhD is strongly
preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible
administrative experience, preferably in higher education is also required.
The successful candidate must demonstrate competence in managing within a
complex organization, encompassing a variety of service units in multiple
locations. The Associate Dean must also possess a participatory
management style, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to timely and
dedicated service, as well as effective oral and written communication
skills are required.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: January 2010
SALARY & BENEFITS: $97,369-$144,213, commensurate
with experience plus competitive benefits.
