Assistant Director, Extension Location / Program Specialist
This full time position assists with the management of a large,
facility-based extension center, which offers both liberal arts classes for
college credit as well as non-credit programming for the community based on
the center’s thematic focus. Responsibilities include program development,
job development and developing and maintaining contacts with area employers,
coordinating the provision of services to students, marketing, and community
outreach. This position reports to the Director of the Extension Center. The
Ossining Extension Center’s focus is on the life sciences and health care
careers; the Peekskill Extension Center’s focus is on the digital arts.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Acts as on-site
administrator in the absence of the center director

In collaboration
with the center director and departmental chairs, develops, implements
and evaluates non-credit programming for the general public (adults,
kids and teens), local business and industry, and other groups.

Assists in community
outreach efforts and marketing to credit and non-credit students.

Assists with
administration of registration systems, attendance, and grade reports.

Assists with student
registrations and associated financial reconciliation.

Assists with the
handling of facility related issues

Coordinates the
provision of on site student support services and ensures that students
are informed about available services.

Develops and
maintains contacts with area employers and community groups, including
organizing regular open houses and job fairs

Assists in the
development and writing of grant proposals.

Regular work hours:
11 am-7 pm M-F for Ossining Center; 11 am-7 pm M-Th, 9 am-5 pm f for
Peekskill Center; weekend hours as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements: BA (MA preferred) plus 3 yrs related experience, preferably in
higher ed or continuing ed; exp..with MS Office Suite required. For Ossining
Center, exp. in health care required; for Peekskill Center, exp. in digital
arts preferred.
Minimum Starting
Salary:
$48,720 plus excellent benefits
