The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) of Westchester, a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking highly motivated, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved individuals preparing for college and/or seeking career-oriented employment. ASSISTANT DEAN OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS (Search Reopened). The Assistant Dean will develop and implement new training programs and all curricula matters. S/he will recruit, retain, evaluate and support faculty, assure proper assessment of student learning to build upon and improve instruction and student learning outcomes, and assure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines including performance guidelines promulgated by the State University of New York and the faculty and staff contracts. S/he will also build consensus through community outreach to enhance program development and maintain/develop liaison with local school districts to address educational needs of community. The Assistant Dean will work with the Business Affairs Office to develop the annual operating and other grant budgets and coordinate with the Student Personnel Services Department to provide services that promote student success. The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree and have a minimum of 5 years of related experience in an academic institution. A Doctoral degree, background in developmental education, and experience working with faculty in a unionized environment is preferred. S/he must possess strong leadership qualities, have top notch administrative skills, and high integrity to set academic policies and conduct academic planning. All candidates are expected to possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work independently. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. S/he must also be available to provide oversight of day and evening programs. The minimum starting salary is $81,859 plus a competitive benefits package. This position is fully grant funded.
