Institutional Effectiveness
Westchester
Community College is the largest
educational institution in
Westchester
County. In addition
to our 218-acre campus in Valhalla, the college has extension sites in New Rochelle, Mount Vernon,
Yonkers, Shrub Oak, Mahopac, Ossining, Port
Chester, Peekskill and White Plains. The College offers more than 50
associate and certificate programs as well as three associate degrees in
36 subject areas. Full–time and part-time college credit students number
approximately 12,000. Continuing Education students bring the total
number served by the college each semester to more than 20,000.
Westchester Community College currently seeks applications for an
Assistant Dean for Academic Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness for
the Valhalla, NY campus.
Under the general direction of the Vice President and Dean of
Academic Affairs, the incumbent will serve as the senior administrator whose
primary responsibilities are leadership, planning, budgeting, and
supervision of the college’s assessment programs and institutional
effectiveness. The Assistant Dean will analyze reports and recommend actions
based on College assessment efforts.
S/he will also serve on the Academic Leadership Council and work
collaboratively with the teaching faculty and Academic Administrators to
develop expertise in classroom assessment research, the design of learning
outcomes and effective ways to assess these learning outcomes.
A Master’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience
as coordinator or director of an assessment program at an institution of
higher learning are required. The Assistant Dean must possess knowledge of:
the principles and techniques of administrative supervision &
decision-making, federal/state/local laws, rules regulations, and policies &
procedures as they relate to the administration of education & training
programs and grants. S/he must
also possess the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
and analyze/evaluate reports and studies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are also required.
The salary is commensurate with experience.
