Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles: Summer Reading Resource – June 23
June 23, 2017
Colleagues,
Working together, we are co-creators of the experiences we wish to provide for our students.
This week Technology CEOs from a cross section of fields gathered for the White House Tech Summit. The core question was how technology could be used to augment governmental procedures. Similarly, a few weeks ago, in San Diego, educators and technologists gathered to talk about how we are preparing students for work in the 21st century. In times past, education and technology were more mutually exclusive domains but this can no longer be the approach since technology is interwoven throughout all of our actions and interactions both professionally and personally. This is a pressing topic across all sectors that deserves a deeper dive as we begin to examine how we integrate technology in all of our practices at the college. This includes how we prepare students to use technology throughout and beyond their college experience. We will explore a few Ed Tech topics in the coming weeks. This week we begin with interesting articles on technology and student skills.
