Message from Dr. Belinda S. Miles: Summer Reading Resource – August 4
August 4, 2017
Colleagues,
This week, Dean Bloom led a small delegation of our colleagues to SUNY Central Administration where they presented our ideas for a new Center for Applied Learning. SUNY continues to be a national leader in Applied Learning and High-Impact Practices. The creation of a center on our campus to support internships, service learning, research and other hands-on curricular activities provides yet one more opportunity to help engage our students more fully in their learning as they work to achieve their goals.
This week’s article explores several aspects of experiential learning and how high-impact practices affect student engagement, retention, and success. As we continue to expand resources and opportunities for our students, we should be intentional about making experiences available to all of our students.
