Key Internal Messaging for Fall 2022 – Summer 2022
There are several overarching messages that we should emphasize in SUNY WCC internal messaging. A single communication piece does not need to address each of these but should tie to at least one. Three themes to keep in mind are:

- Expectations to be a pipeline to business needs/openings (fill gaps)
- Value in traditional higher education
- The World Needs You and We’re Ready to Get You Ready
Vibrancy: Rejuvenate/Refresh/Renew/Resolve
- This theme of vibrancy reflects the power of community in person, drawing energy from proximity. Anything related to facilitating, encouraging or improving this vibrancy would fit into this category. For example, messaging about campus safety.

Be clear and easy to understand. Break down complex ideas into precise language.
High Quality
Demonstrate the exceptional resources we provide students and the community. Use specific data and examples to emphasize the value of a SUNY Westchester Community College education. Remember to show, not tell.
Diverse
Impart the genuinely diverse environment of our locations and programs. Consider the many viewpoints that make up SUNY Westchester Community College.
Technical Writing: Course and Program Descriptions
When writing for technical applications it is important to maintain clarity and use precise language. Tone should be less emotionally driven when writing for technical purposes such as the Catalog.
