Program Specialist (WCC)/Assistant Director, Children’s Center

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  Children’s Center/Student Affairs

 RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent supports the Administrator in all aspects of the program, including the development of curriculum and instructional activities.  S/he maintains compliance with all licensing and regulatory agencies; prepares and reviews reports and keeps detailed records for program and local & state agencies; interfaces with all staff members by providing ongoing guidance, information and evaluation; and designs training programs based on the needs of staff.  S/he will also assist in fundraising and marketing opportunities; and requisition supplies & materials, as needed.  The successful candidate also performs related administrative tasks to ensure the effectiveness of the program. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services is required.  A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Administration and Supervision is strongly preferred.  Good knowledge of the fundamentals of early care educational programs and good knowledge of administrative procedures in an educational environment strongly preferred.  S/he must have the ability to communicate effectively; and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with families, staff and children.  S/he must also have the ability to use automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail and database software.  Physical condition commensurate with the requirements of the position.

POSITION EFFECTIVE:  The position will remain open until filled. 

SALARY & BENEFITS:  The starting salary is $56,660 plus competitive benefits.
