Program Administrator (Veteran’s Services)
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Student Affairs
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Administrator (Veteran’s Services) will recruit eligible veterans, assist veterans and family members in the completion of the admission process, and assist with career and academic advisement. S/he will also prepare Veterans Administration certifications, monitor academic progress, provide the appropriate referral to both on and off campus agencies, and assist with transfer and employment placement.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must be a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and possess a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience in human services, counseling or social work, two years of experience in program development, evaluation or control in the area of veteran’s affairs. S/he must also be familiar with college policy, New York State financial assistance programs, federal assistance programs and Veterans Administration regulations, policy and requirements. *This is a Civil Service position. The final candidate will be required to take and pass the Civil Service Exam.*
POSITION EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2013
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $64,685 plus excellent benefits.
