TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Cook
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Virginia Marx Children’s Center
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cook will prepare nutritious and appropriate meals for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children; track meals and the amounts of food prepared for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) logs; and receive food and kitchen deliveries, putting items away. The Cook will also prepare special lunches for children with allergies. The Cook will estimate the amounts needed of dairy, bread and produce, placing orders on a weekly basis. S/he will also create menus with diverse foods appropriate for infants, toddlers and preschool aged children and keep track of inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in quantity food preparation in a large institution. The successful candidate must also possess experience with knife cuts (to avoid choking hazards) and serving amounts for children. Interpersonal skills with adults and children required. Food Sanitation Certificate strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $43,587, plus excellent benefits.
