Instructor of Computer Science/Networking –Tenure Track
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Department of Computer Science/Division of Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and Physical Sciences and Technologies
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Computer Science Department at WCC has one tenure-track opening for fall 2014. The department seeks motivated candidates with strong computer science and educational credentials. Courses offered at WCC include Object-Oriented Programming in C++, Java and Visual C#, Computer Architecture, Data Structures, and Linux. Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach 15 hours a week.
- Hold a minimum of 5 office hours per week.
- Assist in the development of curricula.
- Serve on department and college-wide committees.
- Participate in professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and a minimum of one year college teaching experience are required. 3 years of college-level teaching and industry experience is strongly preferred. Strong networking knowledge is preferred, including certification such as CCNA or CCNI.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2014
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $57,415, plus excellent benefits. (Hiring is subject to the availability of funds).
