Instructor and Curriculum Chair – Paralegal (Tenure Track)
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Department of Behavioral & Social Sciences/Division of Business, Behavioral/Social Sciences, Public & Human Services
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Behavioral/Social Sciences seeks a highly motivated candidate to teach courses in paralegal and serve as Curriculum Chair of the Paralegal Studies curriculum in accordance with the Guidelines set forth by the American Bar Association. These functions include, but are not limited to, defining major program objectives, coordinating adjunct faculty, advising students, arranging and monitoring internships, evaluating the overall program, completing all reporting requirements of the ABA approval process.
Innovative and knowledgeable individuals with demonstrated experience in instructional technology and student-centered approaches to course and program development are encouraged to apply. In addition to a teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester and 5 office hours per week, the candidate is expected to participate in departmental, college and appropriate professional activities.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s degree in an appropriate academic discipline; a J.D. is strongly preferred. One year teaching experience is required. Knowledge about the paralegal profession and education as well as experience working with or as a paralegal is required.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2014
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $57,415 plus excellent benefits. (Hiring is subject to the availability of funds).
