IN-PERSON Directing for Film An introductory course designed to teach students the fundamental elements of film directing in a safe and nurturing environment. Taught by award-winning director/screenwriter and founder of Forgotten Artist Productions Michael Thomas Cain. Michael teaches his experience in script analysis, visual storytelling, rehearsing with actors before and during shoots, creating storyboards and shot lists during pre-production, and technical aspects of filmmaking like lighting, camera, and sound during production. REMOTE Laughing with the World: A Film Series on Global Comedy Join Film Professor Will Costanzo for an interactive investigation into the nature of humor and global movie comedies. Watching film clips together from the great traditions of European and East Asian films, we will explore what makes people laugh around the world. Some forms of humor are culturally distinctive, some forms are universal, but they all reveal something important about others and ourselves.
