15 3D Animation Certificate-252 Hrs Explore the many facets of 3D animation in this intensive online non-credit two-semester certificate program. This program will take students through the 3D animation production pipeline and cover many aspects of 3D creation. From modeling assets and characters to animating and final rendering, this program will guide you through the fundamental principles of 3D animation. Whether you are interested in film, video games, or commercial work, these courses will get you on the right trajectory. The culminating experience will be the creation of a demo reel for their portfolio to show employers or schools in order to continue on their career paths. Explore texturing with Adobe Substance 3D Painter and rendering with Arnold in Maya. The course will consist of demonstrations combined with discussion, tutorials created by the instructor, in-class exercises, and weekly assignments. CE-DGART 2093PE, 14 Mon., Sept. 11-Dec. 11, 6:30-9:30 pm. REMOTE Animation I This course will introduce students to animating in Autodesk Maya. Students will start with the basics and learn about the twelve principles of animation. CE-DGART 2094PE, 14 Wed., Sept. 13-Dec. 20 (skip 11/22), 6:30-9:30 pm. MODULE II REMOTE Modeling II/Digital Sculpting for Concept and Animation This course will introduce students to creating organic characters and sculpture for production using Autodesk Maya and Maxon ZBrush. The course will consist of demonstrations combined with discussion, tutorials created by the instructor, in-class exercises, and weekly assignments. Students will continue texturing and rendering a character turntable for their portfolio. Prerequisite: Modeling I for Animation. CE-DGART 2095PE, 14 Mon., Jan. 8-Apr. 15 (skip 1/15), 2024, 6:30-9:30 pm. REMOTE Animation II Learn to create basic rig setups and more advanced rig setups for characters and assets. Learn the importance of posing and body mechanics for animation. Prerequisite: Animation I. CE-DGART 2096PE, 14 Wed., Jan. 17-Apr. 17, 2024, 6:30-9:30 pm. MODULE III REMOTE Animation III Learn to create storyboards, animatics, and an animation based on your own story. Each student will create a 15-second animation with a pre-rigged character of choice. This class will also focus on creating and using live video reference to help with timing and posing for animations. Prerequisite: Modeling II/Digital Sculpting for Concept and Animation. REMOTE Demo Reel Creation and Exhibition Students will use the technical, drawing, and storytelling skills they have learned in the previous courses to produce a project for their demo reels.
